Chocolate - Heart Health

Valentine’s Day & Heart Healthy Chocolate

Valentine’s Day is in a few days and for many that means chocolate candy for our loved ones.  If you have a loved one watching their health, try dark chocolate this Valentine’s Day.  Dark chocolate containing at least 70% or more cacao content contains higher levels of flavenoids which have been shown to be heart-healthy by lowering incidence of hypertension, heart attack, and other cardiovascular diseases.

Remember that chocolate also contains fat and sugar that aren’t so heart-healthy, so when choosing to consume any chocolate, we still want to do so in moderation.

New Year Resolution

New Year’s Resolutions – How are your resolutions going so far?

It’s New Year’s Resolutions time…so how are your resolutions going so far?  Do you have the same resolutions as last year, such as eat healthier and lose weight?  If so, did you meet these resolutions last year?  It is easier said than done!!!

The first step toward meeting your goals is to BE POSITIVE.  Instead of focusing on the foods “I can’t have”, focus on foods “you can have” and continue with a positive focus in that you are adding healthier foods to your diet, resulting in a healthier you.  Also remember that “One diet doesn’t fit all”, and if you choose a diet and are not losing weight or improving your health, it may be that you need a different regimen.  Don’t be so hard on yourself and become overwhelmed.  Once you find the healthier way of eating that fits you, you will reap the rewards of feeling your best, and if you need to lose weight, the reward of weight loss.

If you want to achieve those resolutions this year, please come and see me.  We will find the healthy eating regimen that works for you.  CONTACT OR BOOK APPOINTMENT  And to help you get started toward a healthy year, I’m providing a limited time offer for the first 10 people that book an appointment with me focusing on improving your health.
