It is difficult to figure out if a recall is something we are purchasing in our grocery stores, so it’s a great idea for the FDA to name the food retailers that have recalls. Hopefully they will be more accountable for keeping their foods safe. FDA wants to name food retailers in food recalls

The Environmental Working Group (EWG) organization tests the amount of pesticide that remains in our produce every year and compiles a list of the top worst (called dirty dozen) and the least (clean 15) so we can make an informed decision when buying produce. It is best to buy any on the dirty 12 list as Organic to decrease your pesticide intake. Disappointing to learn CDC recommends discarding any lettuce you have related to possible contamination with E. Coli. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has expanded its warning about eating romaine lettuce to all romaine lettuce grown in the Yuma, Arizona, region, including whole heads and hearts of romaine, in addition to the previous warning for chopped lettuce and salad mixes.
