Video of the journey food takes in our Digestive System inside the human body
If you have ever wondered the journey food and beverages take throughout the digestive system in our body, you will be interested in watching this video. A camera will show you the inside of our digestive system in this video. (If you are sensitive to live views inside the body, you may not want to watch this video)
Our digestive system is responsible for absorption of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, etc. It is composed of the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine. The entire digestive tract, from mouth extending to the anus, also called gastrointestinal tract, is about 30 feet long! If the surface of the intestine could be spread out flat, it would have a surface area of approximately the size of a tennis court, or about 250 square meters. It is important that our digestive system is working well so we break down the food we eat and take up the nutrients in those foods in order to have a good nutritional status.
